Fabian Kapp welcomed various media representatives on June 15. In order to give a decided insight into the individual process steps in the production of bipolar plates, the Managing Director of Gräbener Maschinentechnik GmbH und Co. KG and leading head of the Graebener® Bipolar Plate Technologies business unit guided the visitors through the factory:
"A major interest of mine is to create understanding for manufacturing processes that are important in the context of a future with and through hydrogen. However, I am also well aware that these topics have a certain technological complexity and therefore only reach the broad public to a limited extent," says Kapp, who used the press visit to make the bipolar plate production and its preceding laboratory work accessible to a local public.
With Raimund Hellwig (Siegener Zeitung), Florian Adam (Westfalenpost and Westfälische Rundschau) and Paul Bald (Radio Siegen), the most important media from the region paid a visit to our company in Netphen-Werthenbach.
After a comprehensive presentation of the work performed by Graebener® and a lively, one-hour discussion, the company tour eventually took place. During the tour, Fabian Kapp demonstrated the process steps of hydroforming, laser cutting and laser welding on the company's own equipment. The participants also had the opportunity to view a testing press under construction for an electrolysis stack.
The day was completed by Autohaus Keller resp. Enrico Marrazzo, who provided a Toyota Mirai as a presentation object. The hydrogen car of the Japanese manufacturer, which was already put on sale in 2015, is one of the first series-production vehicles to be powered by fuel cell technology.
