World's first motor bus comes from Netphen

Graebener® is sponsor of the 125th anniversary celebration

125 years ago, the world's first motorized bus drove from Netphen-Deuz to Siegen-Weidenau. The towns of Netphen and Siegen and the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein now want to celebrate the anniversary of that first tour - on 18.03.1895. Armin Laschet, Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, will accompany the festivities as patron.

From March 20 to 22, 2020 a broad program is planned in Netphen and Siegen: from an opening party to an omnibus parade with historic and future-oriented buses from all over Europe, a subsequent evening gala and an information boulevard. The latter will take place in the Poststraße in Siegen-Weidenau on March 22, 2020. In addition to a vast entertainment program and an exhibition, approaches to future public transport solutions will be discussed and tested on site with the festival visitors.

Graebener® is main sponsor of the anniversary. "For almost 100 years, our headquarters has been located in Netphen-Werthenbach and we have always received a lot of support from the region. For example, the majority of our employees also come from South Westphalia. Therefore, we have always been committed to giving back to the region", says Dieter Kapp, Managing Partner of Graebener®.
