On September 30 and October 1, 2026, Fraunhofer IWU will be bringing together experts from industry and research at the Technical Forum on Tube, Profile and Hydroforming Technologies at Chemnitz University of Technology. The focus will be on current developments in the manufacturing and further processing of pipes and profiles, as well as hydroforming—ranging from innovative processes and applications to plant engineering and process control.
Graebener® will also give a technical lecture:
Subject: “Graebener® Hydroforming Presses: From Comprehensive Retrofits to Component-Specific Special Solutions”
Speaker: Patrick Müller, Head of the Graebener® Bipolar Plate Technologies Division
Date and Time: October 1, 2026 | 1:35 p.m.
Patrick Müller provides insights into the hydroforming portfolio of Gräbener Maschinentechnik GmbH & Co. KG and demonstrates how existing press systems can be adapted to meet new requirements through comprehensive retrofit measures—and what a tailored solution designed specifically for the component to be manufactured might look like.
Forming technology is used in a wide variety of sectors, from the automotive and fitting to the hydrogen industry, since it can be used to produce both internally high-pressure formed products, such as T-fittings, and externally high-pressure formed components, such as bipolar plates.
In addition to technical lectures, the two-day forum also offers live demos in the test facilities as well as opportunities for professional exchange with experts from research and industry.
